Orange (Blue Eye) Anthias (Female)

$30.00

The Female Orange Anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis), also known as the Lyretail Anthias, is a vibrant schooling fish native to the Indo-Pacific. Females are a brilliant orange with a sleek body shape, while males develop more elaborate fins and sometimes a purple hue as they mature. Females typically reach about 3–4 inches, making them slightly smaller than the males. Best kept in groups, they thrive in aquariums 125 gallons or larger with plenty of swimming space and rockwork for shelter. Active and constantly moving, they add a bright splash of color and energy to reef systems. They require a varied diet of small, frequent feedings—frozen mysis, brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality marine pellets—to stay healthy. Hardy for anthias but still considered moderately challenging, female Orange Anthias do best in established aquariums with stable water conditions.
