You will receive a frag SIMILAR in shape and size to the coral in the photo. This is NOT a WYSIWYG frag. All our frags are generally 3/4” - 1”

Care Requirements:

  • Lighting: Moderate to high (PAR 100-200). Prefers stable lighting conditions.

  • Flow: Moderate, indirect flow to prevent tissue damage while keeping the tentacles swaying.

  • Placement: Middle to lower tank areas with ample space, as it has long, stinging sweeper tentacles.

  • Water Parameters:

    • Temperature: 76-80°F (24-27°C)

    • Salinity: 1.025 SG (35 PPT)

    • pH: 8.1-8.4

    • Alkalinity: 8-12 dKH

    • Calcium: 400-450 ppm

    • Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm

Feeding & Nutrition:

Hammer corals primarily rely on photosynthesis via their symbiotic zooxanthellae algae, but benefit from supplemental feeding 1-2 times per week. Offer meaty foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and coral-specific liquid foods.

Compatibility & Challenges:

  • Aggressive coral with long sweeper tentacles that can sting nearby corals—place it at a safe distance from others.

  • Prone to Brown Jelly Disease if exposed to poor water conditions or physical damage.

  • Fragging is possible but requires caution due to its delicate flesh.

Final Tips:

Maintain stable water parameters, ensure gentle but consistent water flow, and provide occasional feedings to keep your hammer coral healthy and thriving.
