Lobophyllia, often called a Lobed Brain Coral, is a hardy and colorful LPS coral known for its thick fleshy tissue and bold ridged skeleton structure. It displays vibrant shades of red, green, orange, and multi color patterns that become even more intense under stable reef conditions. Lobophyllia prefers low to moderate lighting and gentle to moderate flow, typically thriving on the sand bed or lower rockwork where its tissue can fully expand. While generally peaceful during the day, it can extend sweeper tentacles at night, so adequate spacing from neighboring corals is recommended. Occasional feeding of small meaty foods helps promote faster growth and strong coloration.
